With over 24 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, Jill has worked in a variety of rehabilitation settings. When traditional therapies failed to help her own chronic pain issues, she was drawn to manual and holistic therapies. When she began receiving Myofascial Release treatment, Jill's life and health improved dramatically and her career headed in a new direction. Her training includes all Myofascial Release courses taught by John F. Barnes, PT, and she serves as an assistant instructor for Myofascial Release Treatment Centers and Seminars. She has also taken CranioSacral, SomatoEmotional and Lymph Drainage courses from the Upledger Institute; Manual Therapy, Motor Control, Neurodynamics, Orthopedics and Muscle Energy Techniques from Manual Therapy Seminars; and Healing Touch courses from the Colorado Center for Healing Touch. She blends these approaches with soft tissue mobilization, neuromuscular reeducation, movement and postural awareness, and home exercise programs. She has co-authored a book entitled Myofascial Stretching: A Guide to Self-Treatment and believes in the importance of empowering her clients by teaching them techniques to enhance and maintain the benefits gained through therapy. Jill has found that combining hands on therapy with self-treatment is a highly successful and cost effective method to reduce pain, restore function and enhance the well being of her clients.
Jill has been in private practice since 2003 in Lakewood, just west of Denver. She loves working with people of all ages and all conditions, and approaches every patient with expertise, caring and compassion. She is grateful for the opportunity to be a facilitator in the healing of others.
